Sibikwa Arts Centre is excited to announce that we have a 12 month internship opportunity available for a Projects Administration, Marketing and Business intern. Funded by one of the big four banks, this opportunity is open to candidates that:

Have a minimum qualification of matric.

Must be a South African citizen.

Are between 18 and 34 years of age.

Preference will be given to individuals from a previously disadvantaged background.

Have never held a full-time position before (this is a FirstJob opportunity) and preferably have not participated on a learnership or internship before.

Live within 40 kms from our offices/site, which is situated in Liverpool Road, Benoni.

Are not currently in fulltime studies and able to attend this internship full time.

Are willing to be subjected to a credit and criminal check or any industry specific checks required for your job role.

Other requirements are:

The Projects Administration intern will be expected to assist and support all operational functions and administrative processes to ensure successful projects. The responsibilities of the position include document management, organizing service providers, arranging logistics, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder communication and secretarial duties. The applicant must have working knowledge of performing arts education/training and/or production procedures and practices and an eagerness to apply that knowledge in a wide range of venues.

The Marketing intern will be required to design marketing material, produce short promotional clips and assist with photographic documentation for marketing and publicity purposes. The applicant must have a qualification in graphic design, skills in photoshop, canva or similar, and an interest and experience in web development, social media marketing and digital content creation.

The Business intern will assist the CEO and support all operational functions and administrative processes related to fundraising, partnership building and collaborative research and advocacy projects. The applicant must have the ability to handle varied levels of multi‐tasking and to adapt to rapidly changing environments, and a working knowledge of the field and context of community arts, arts education/training and/or cultural policy.

All applicants must have an eagerness to learn and accept direction, proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet software, excellent organizational, planning and time management skills, proficient English speaking and writing skills, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Start date of the internship is 1 July 2023 and end date is 30 June 2024.
