Sibikwa Arts Centre is looking for a dynamic arts educationalist to join our team! This person will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Sibikwa Arts Academy, Inclusive Creative Arts Programme, and Community Engagement and Corporate Initiatives, including the Creative and Cultural Industries Career Exhibition, Sibikwa Arts Academy Holiday Programme, Sibikwa Performing Arts Ensemble, and 1 of Sibikwa’s annual events, festivals, or showcases held during commemorative months, such as Africa, Youth, Women’s or Heritage Month.
The successful candidate will be someone with:
- formal training/education and experience in arts education, curriculum development, inclusive education and project management;
- a passion for the arts, community and the development of children and young people;
- skills to engage learners and their guardians, arts and education collaborators and partners, as well as corporates, government representatives and funders;
- an ability to work independently and within a team;
- bi/multi-lingual, writing, numeracy, Microsoft office and business competencies; and
- a willingness to work on weekends, public holidays, and after standard working hours.
The responsibilities related to this role include:
- Drafting project proposals and budgets, securing project funding, booking corporate gigs, and monitoring and processing all event related financial transactions, including creditor and debtor payments.
- Managing communication, compliance and reporting in relation to project stakeholders and partners, as per contractual agreements.
- Contributing to the development of success indicators, ensuring that targets are met and administering required monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Recruiting, contracting and managing personnel and participants.
- Organising and ensuring the smooth running of projects, procuring resources, administering meetings and chaperoning, when necessary.
- Overseeing and coordinating curriculum development, assessments, excursions and events.
- Supporting with marketing and publicity efforts and activities.
- Managing the work placement and professional development of a projects intern.
- Attending and representing Sibikwa at relevant industry and other engagements.
- Attending and assisting on all Sibikwa events, and any other duties which may occur to ensure the furtherance of the business.
